Volunteers sorted a mountain of donated socks this morning following a two-month drive for Operation Sock It To Me, an annual effort to provide socks to Bates County schoolchildren. Community members and Bates County Memorial Hospital employees contributed socks for children in grades K-12, as well as preschoolers. Volunteers will distribute the donations to area schools.
