The Patient and Family Advisory Council at Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) is collecting gloves and stocking hats to help keep students in local schools warm this winter.
The project grew from a desire among council members to
find a way to give back to the Bates County community. The council, made up of
local citizens who provide input and perspectives to help improve the patient
and family experience at BCMH, chose the winter clothing drive as a way to
support children and families in the area.
Allison Pugh, Director of Quality and Risk, oversees
the council and said the project reflects the group's commitment to making a
positive difference beyond the hospital.
"Through this effort, we are supporting the
hospital's mission to continuously improve the health of those in our community
by ensuring the children have access to warm gloves and hats," Pugh said.
"Thank you for helping us keep students warm this winter."
Community members are invited to participate by
donating new gloves and stocking hats. Collection boxes are located near the
information desk at BCMH and at each of the hospital's Family Care Clinic
locations:
Adrian: 102 E. Main St., Adrian
Butler: 706 S. High St. or 617 W. Nursery St., Butler
Rich Hill: 225 N. 14th St., Rich Hill
The Patient and Family Advisory Council appreciates the
community's support in helping provide warmth and comfort to local students
during the colder months.
