The Miami County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management have been in close communication with the governing bodies of the Cities of Osawatomie, Paola, and Miami County.
All have
verbally declared a State of Emergency following yesterday afternoon’s hail
storm due to the extensive damage to structures and vehicles.
As with the
declaration issued after the Hillsdale tornado, this action allows access to
additional resources to assist with repairs and cleanup efforts in Miami County.
As they move
forward, they will continue coordinating with city officials to provide timely
information and updates to residents.
