Recovering from a cardiac event can be both physically and emotionally challenging. For Bill Perkins, Cardiac Rehabilitation at Bates County Memorial Hospital played a key role in helping him regain strength, confidence, and control of his heart health.
After completing the program, Perkins said the experience went far
beyond medical recovery.
“Bates County Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac
Rehabilitation program offered me more than just medical recovery,” Perkins
said. “It provided a warm, supportive environment where patients like me feel
truly cared for.”
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a medically supervised program designed to
help patients recover after heart attacks, heart surgery, or other cardiac
conditions. Participants receive individualized exercise guidance, education on
heart-healthy nutrition, and lifestyle coaching.
Perkins credited the Cardiac Rehab team for creating an atmosphere
that helped him stay motivated and confident throughout the program.
“The staff’s friendliness and constant positive encouragement helped
me every step of the way,” he said. “I not only improved my heart health, but I
also formed lasting friendships with staff and other participants.”
By the end of the program, Perkins said he felt a strong sense of
accomplishment and improved well-being.
“The entire experience was life-changing, uplifting, and fun,” he
said. “I highly recommend Bates County Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac
Rehabilitation program for anyone who has suffered a cardiac event.”
