Nevada Fire Determined To Be Arson

 At 9:26 a.m. today, Nevada firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at 301 E. Ashland. C-Shift, consisting of four on-duty personnel and Chief McKlintic, responded with Engine 219 and Car 200.

Upon arrival, crews observed fire and smoke coming from the 1.5-story residence. During interior fire attack and search operations, one Nevada firefighter fell through the floor. The firefighter was able to exit the structure, where they received medical care from VCAD and were subsequently transported, he was later released.
Three off-duty Nevada personnel responded to the scene with Engine 212 and Rescue 214. Mutual aid was provided by Milo, Deerfield, and Compton, who contributed two engines and additional personnel. Due to the Nevada ladder truck being out of service, a ladder truck was requested and provided by the Lamar Fire Department.

Following an investigation by NPD and the Missouri State Fire Marshal, the fire was determined to have been intentionally set.
