Sunday evening, November 23, 2025, at 6:17 p.m., Rich Hill Fire Department (RHFD), Bates County EMS, Bates County Sheriff's Office, and the Missouri Highway Patrol responded to a motor vehicle accident “car vs. deer” on Northbound I-49 at mile marker 117.9. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported upon arrival.
While
emergency services were on the scene, there were a few instances where traffic
refused to move over. Emergency responders asks the public to remember this
crucial safety message: When you see flashing emergency lights MOVE OVER.
