Cass County Sheriff's Office CAU Pursuit Ends With Charges

On April 30 just after 5 p.m., deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Unit attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and careless driving on southbound I-49 and 7 Highway in Harrisonville.

The driver of the vehicle failed to yield after deputies activated their emergency lights.

A pursuit ensued and continued south on 7 Highway down to State Rte T until the suspect's vehicle eventually crashed into a ditch after attempting to turn on South Dickey Rd. in Austin, east of Archie.

The driver, who has been identified as 34-year-old Jacob Madson of Lincoln, Missouri, has an active Henry County warrant for failing to appear for resisting arrest. Madson also has a warrant for a failure to appear in Clinton, Missouri Municipal Court for shoplifting.

Due to the nature of the chase, EMS was called on scene, but Madson refused medical treatment.

As a result of this incident, Madson is charged with Aggravated Fleeing, which is a Class D Felony and Operating a Motor Vehicle in A Careless or Imprudent Manner, which is a Class B Misdemeanor. He’s currently at the Cass County Jail with no bond allowed.
