A Monett, Missouri, man was killed and four others from Aurora, Missouri, were injured in a crash on Sunday, April 27, 2025, on northbound I-49 at the 150 mile marker in Cass County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash
happened at 7:13 a.m. when a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling northbound
went off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail. The impact ejected
the driver and three occupants from the vehicle.
The driver, a 55-year-old man from Monett, Missouri, was not
wearing a seat belt. He was transported by Central Cass to Research Medical
Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:35 a.m.
A 20-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from Aurora,
Missouri, suffered serious injuries. They were transported to Truman Medical
Center.
Two juvenile girls, ages 4 and 8, also from Aurora,
Missouri, suffered minor injuries. The 4-year-old, who was wearing a seat belt,
was transported by West Peculiar to Children’s Mercy Hospital. The 8-year-old,
who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Harrisonville EMS to
Children’s Mercy Hospital.
