The Bates County Sheriff's Office has been made aware of a scam in our area. Scammers are sending messages out under the guise of being with the United States Postal Service and are unable to deliver a package due to an error of some kind. It asks for credit card information to cover the mishap. This is a reminder that if you receive something like this and aren't sure if it is authentic, call the business on your own to verify and NEVER send personal information or click on any links that seem suspicious.
