Hello Everyone,
Thanks to all of you a very successful Bates County Heart Screening was conducted on Saturday, June 1st.
I am happy to report MyHeartCheck conducted fifty-two heart screenings, a 96% capacity rate based against our target of 54 screenings.
Eric and David of MyHeartCheck were very pleased with the flow and said from a process and communication standpoint, this was the best of the three Bates County screenings conducted so far.
Most importantly, no apparent “urgent or life threatening” heart issues were identified with any of the attendees. MyHeartCheck will be notifying the attendee’s parents and family physician of the results very soon, will send out a more complete report of the screening.
During the screening, none of those who reserved a spot and paid the $25 fee (prior to the change in making the screening free) asked for their money back. Eric intends to notify Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) of the list of those that paid $25 so that money (if applicable) can be applied to an attendee’s upcoming athletic physical being conducted by BCMH; furthermore, any funds remaining can either be refunded or will be applied to the cost of the heart screening based on the individual’s wishes.
Most of those screened were of an age to be involved in school athletics so hope to see a good cross-over with the upcoming BCMH athletic physical program.
Peggy and I want to thank all of you and your respective organizations for support of this initiative. We are grateful for your assistance in supporting the youth of Bates County and look forward to conducting future heart screenings.
Best regards,
Steve and Peggy Berkebile
