On the evening of June 6th, (6/6/2024) at approximately 5:30PM, the Bates County Coroner, Greg D. Mullinax, was called to the southbound lanes of Interstate 49 at the Rich Hill overpass. A vehicle traveled out of the southbound lane off the roadway and struck a pillar of the overpass. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and is identified as Michael Doll, 64 of Kansas City, Missouri.
