The Bates County Sheriff released this clarification after an incident at the Butler Airport .
All parachuters on the plane exited prior to the pilot leaving the plane. They thought that would be evident by the line that says everyone was treated and released*****
Butler dispatch was notified about a small airplane that crashed by the Butler Missouri airport.
On arrival to the scene, first responders found the airplane in
a hay field east of the runways. The pilot had been able to parachute from the
plane prior to the plane crashing and was located at an hanger at the airport.
Everyone involved was treated by ems and released at the scene.
The plane is a total loss.
The Bates County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the NTSB and the
FAA in their investigations. Media inquires should be directed to those federal
