Dear Adrian and surrounding communities,
The Adrian United Methodist Church and the Adrian community are reaching out on behalf of the Comer family, with full consent from Bobby, Becky, and Chris Comer, to share a significant moment in their journey.
This morning marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to
significantly improve the living conditions of the Comer family. In a brave and
challenging step, they have decided to part with 95% of their belongings, which
were no longer viable due to various forms of damage.
To support the Comer family through this transition, the Adrian
United Methodist Church have arranged temporary accommodation at a hotel in
Harrisonville for the next 7 days. The goal is to not only clean but also
refurbish their apartment into a safe and welcoming home. However, we need your
help to make this possible.
They are currently seeking:
A new queen-sized mattress and box spring set.
If volunteers would like to clean items before they go back in
apartment that would be great.
Further needs will be identified as they progress, and the
church will keep the community updated
on how best to support the Comer family during this time.
It's important to highlight that the Comer family has been
overwhelmed by the generosity of donations over the years, which unfortunately
became too much for them to manage. This clean sweep is a fresh start, aiming
to provide them with a manageable and comfortable living space.
For those who wish to contribute, donations can be made to the
Adrian United Methodist Church, specifying support for the Comer family's apartment
refurbishment. Together, the church and the public can make a meaningful
difference in their lives.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
