John Hubbard passed February 26 2024 at 77 years old. Born to Cecil & Corrine (Ellis) Hubbard, December 13th 1946.
Much of his youth and adult years were spent on the family orchard in Virginia. MO. He ran numeorus businesses throughout his life including a grocery store, greenhouses and produce stands.
He served his country in the Vietnam War.
He was very close with his sister, Ellen. After her passing he took on a parent role for Angie.
He loved working in the orchard and teaching the next generation. After retiring from the numerous family businesses he helped establish another orchard in Adrian.
He spent his later years teaching the grandkids and great grandkids how to be tough and ornery. Many hours were spent with them in the tomato patch, orchard, produce stands, at Trading Post and cruising around singing along to music. Being able to be around his grandkids and great grand kids, to teach them things, gave him a special light. His care and love for them ran deep.
He is survived by his Son Hank Hubbard, Nieces Angie (Scott) Berry & Shaunna (Scott) Petty. His grandchildren who stepped up and helped take care of him during his final years Ellen Milburn, Crystal Hubbard, (Robert) Briar Berry & Kanyon Berry. Numerous great grand children. Grandson JD Dickinson. Great nephew, Justice Petty & great niece, Marissa Petty. Daughter Misty Monard & son Wesley Hubbard.
Proceeded in death by his parents, sister Ellen (Hubbard) Scott and brother Gary Hubbard.
He lived a very full life, writing it out would require a book. Family and Friends can join us at his Celebration of Life at Adam Howell Cemetary (between Butler & Amsterdam) March 9th at 2pm to 4 pm to help us tell the stories that could fill that book. This will be an informal setting- bring your lawn chair and plan to sit and visit.
