 To protect yourself, keep these things in mind to avoid scams:

 Avoid a business that requires upfront payments.

Ask for copies of their business license.

Verify insurance coverage.

Get multiple quotes.

Check references.

Make sure to read contracts carefully.

It’s bad enough to have storm damage that needs repaired but you don’t want to get scammed as well.
