Deputies Ordered to Wear Mourning Badges Following Death of Judge Cox
Our Office recognizes the passing of Associate Circuit Judge Jeff Cox with deep sadness.
Sheriff Weber has ordered all uniformed staff to wear mourning badges until the conclusion of funeral
services.
Details about memorial services or any arrangements to honor Judge Cox will be communicated as
soon as they are available.
Judge Cox was involved in a motor vehicle accident Friday, January 5 after suffering a medical event.
He was pronounced deceased shortly after at Research Belton Hospital.
Judge Cox was a dedicated and respected member of our Justice Center family. His contributions to
the legal community and his commitment to upholding justice have left a lasting impact on us all.
We understand this news may be difficult to process, and we want to extend our heartfelt
condolences to his family during this challenging time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
