On Sunday November 26th at approximately 7:35 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatality accident on southbound I-49 at mile marker 148 in rural Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol states that the accident occurred when a southbound 2019 Ford Expedition driven by 29 year old Sarah A. Sanchez of Carrollton, Texas was stopped on the shoulder following an earlier collision. She was then overtaken and struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Astro Van driven by 29 year old Felicia S. Fitzgerald of Rich Hill, Missouri.
After hitting the stopped Ford Expedition, the Chevrolet Astro Van traveled off the roadway and overturned striking a tree. Felicia S. Fitzgerald was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
