A Press Release was issued on October 23rd to the public from the Superintendent of the Drexel R-IV School District announcing the retirement of Terry Mayfield.
Mr. Mayfield stated in his letter, “ After an incredible journey
of 28 years in education and the last eight as your superintendent it's with
mixed emotions that I announce my retirement as the Superintendent of the
Drexel R-IV School District at the conclusion of this school year. This decision
was not easy, but the time has come for me to embark on a new chapter in life.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for the
unwavering support, dedication, and passion you've shown throughout my tenure
here. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to serve this wonderful
community, work alongside our exceptional staff, and witness the growth and
achievements of our students.
As I reflect on my time here, I'm filled with pride at the
progress we've made together. From academic accomplishments to the growth of
our school programs, it's been a remarkable journey, and I couldn't have done
it without the incredible team and community support.
While I'll miss the day-to-day interactions and the incredible
students, I'm looking forward to this new phase of life. Rest assured, I'll
always carry the memories and friendships made here in my heart.”
Thank you for being an integral part of this incredible chapter.
I leave with fond memories and the hope that the Drexel R-IV School District
will continue to flourish.
Wishing you all a bright and successful future.
With gratitude,
Terry Mayfield
Congratulations Mr. Mayfield
