Bates County Sheriff Press Release

On 8/27/23, deputies were in the area of Fran St and 52 Highway in Butler when they observed the Butler Officer in pursuit of a silver passenger vehicle traveling west out out of Butler. Deputies immediately joined in the pursuit to assist the Officer. The pursuit continued westbound on 52 highway with speeds ranging from 60mph to 100mph. Deputies eventually took over the pursuit to deploy the Grappler System to bring the pursuit to a save ending.

The Grappler was successfully deployed on the vehicle approximately 3 miles from the City of Amoret. Once the grappler was deployed a second deputy used his push bumper on the drivers side of the vehicle to prevent the driver from being able to flee on foot.
The driver, 23 year old Arizona Booher, from Butler was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of methamphetamine and a gun.
Booher was charged with resisting arrest and trafficking drugs in the 2nd degree. Booher remains in the Bates County Jail.
