Bates County Community Health Foundation Announces 2026-2027 Scholarship Recipients
Bates County Community Health Foundation (BCCHF) received an
abundance of qualified applicants this year.
We are pleased to announce that the recipients of the 2026-2027
scholarships are Michale Ashberger, Valerie Craft, Emma McIntire, Mackenzie
Shipley, Megan Switzer, and Piper Wiley.
The BCCHF scholarship is $1,000 ($500 per semester) and is awarded based
on criteria established by BCCHF for Bates County residents pursuing a career
in the healthcare field.
Michale Ashberger attends the Research College of Nursing in
Kansas City, MO where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Valerie Craft attends Research College of Nursing in Kansas
City, MO where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Emma McIntire will be attending Drury University in
Springfield, MO where she is pursuing a Master of Science in Physician
Assistant Studies degree.
Mackenzie Shipley works at Bates County Memorial Hospital
attends Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO where she is pursuing her
Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree.
Megan Switzer works at Bates County Memorial Hospital and is
attending Pittsburg State University Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing
where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Piper Wiley attends the University of Missouri in Columbia,
MO where she is pursuing a degree in the Occupational Therapy
Assistant-Baccalaureate program.
