The Bates County Museum invites you to 2 celebrations during the month of June, in honor of America’s 250th Birthday.
The first June celebration will be held on June 13th at 7 pm, at the Museum. It will be a free Ice Cream Social with “Sincerely Yours, Laura Ingalls Wilder” by Nancy Boswell; in full costume. Nancy will tell the story after the Little House books end, covering Laura’s move to Missouri in 1894 and why she wrote the books in her later years. Nyla Newkirk will be demonstrating lace making, games on the lawn, there will be museum tours, and the Bates County Museum Gift Shop will be open. Family and friend are invited to the Ice Cream Social June 13th , serving starts at 7 pm at the Bates County Museum on Elks Drive in Butler. This is a free event , but donations are always welcome and appreciated.
