Missouri Cattlemen’s Association Meeting to Address Stocker Cattle Management and Risk Protection Strategies

 Stockton, Mo.- "Effective cattle management and safeguarding profitability amid market fluctuations are essential for the sustainability of stocker cattle operations," says Patrick Davis, MU Extension Livestock Field Specialist. In response, MU Extension, in collaboration with the Vernon County MO Cattlemen’s Association and FCS Financial, will host a Stocker Cattle Risk Management Workshop on April 16. The workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Vernon County Fairgrounds Centennial Hall, located at 1641 East Ashland Street, Nevada, MO 64772.

 “The workshop will center around stocker cattle management and risk protection,” says Davis. Davis will cover management strategies, while Jay Sloniker from FCS Financial will address ways to protect against risks with stocker cattle.
