TEFAP stands for The Emergency Food Assistance Program — a federal program that helps make sure families have access to nutritious food when money is tight. Through TEFAP, the USDA buys high‑quality foods (like fruits, veggies, meat, dairy, and grains) and sends them to each state. From there, the food is distributed to local food banks and pantries — including Butler’s Community Food Pantry.
TEFAP foods are completely free for eligible households, and
the program helps keep shelves stocked with healthy options for this community.
It’s one of the many ways the Butler Community Food Pantry works to make sure
no one in Bates County has to worry about where their next meal is coming from.
