Shortly after 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9th, 2026, emergency services were dispatched to a tanker rollover at northbound I-49, mile marker 118. Rich Hill Fire, Rich Hill Police, Bates County Sheriff's Office, Bates County EMS, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that the tanker was hauling used cooking oil. The driver was transported from the scene by Bates County EMS with minor injuries.
