At 7:25 p.m., Thursday, February 12th, 2026, the Rich Hill Fire Department (RHFD) was dispatched to assist Compton Junction Fire and Deerfield Fire with a residential structure fire on MM Hwy, west of Metz. During this time, Butler Fire provided a tanker for standby in Rich Hill to ensure coverage for any additional calls.
Later that
evening, at 9:39 p.m., shortly after Tanker 1 returned to the city, RHFD was
dispatched to a structure fire near 6th and Plum. Upon arrival, the barn was
found to be fully engulfed. Mutual aid was received from both Butler Fire and
Compton Junction Fire to manage the incident.
