A Peculiar, Missouri man is facing a felony rape charge following an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
According to
a press release from the Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Collin K. Goodsell was
arrested February 12, 2026, in connection with a sexual assault investigation
conducted by the Troop A Criminal Investigative Unit.
The
investigation began in December 2025 after the Division of Drug and Crime
Control was asked to look into allegations of sexual assault involving an
employee of the Belton Police Department. Following the investigation,
authorities say investigators developed probable cause to arrest Goodsell for
allegedly raping an adult female.
Goodsell was
taken into custody in Lee’s Summit on February 12 and transported to the Pettis
County Jail, where he was initially placed on an investigative hold. A probable
cause statement was forwarded to the Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney.
On February
13, the prosecutor formally charged Goodsell with Rape in the First Degree. He
is currently being held in the Pettis County Jail without bond.
The Highway
Patrol reports that Goodsell has held several law enforcement positions in Cass
and Livingston counties. Authorities are asking anyone with information related
