On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at about 10:30 AM, a member of the Drexel community received a phone call from an individual claiming to be a member of the Drexel Police Department. This individual identified themselves as Captain Kennedy, and was able to call using the real Drexel Police Department phone number. The community member did not fall for the scam, causing the caller to terminate the call. Chief Downey of the Drexel Police Department would like to assure the community that no member of the Drexel Police Department will EVER call asking for bail or fine money, Cryptocurrency, or gift cards, or anything similar.
