At approximately 2:39pm, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Rich Hill Missouri Police officer’s, along with the Bates County Sheriff’s Office, were dispatched to the area of the Rich Hill high school regarding a medical call. Due to the nature of the call, and out of the safety for the students and staff the school was placed on lock down. After further investigation, and the subject was located, it was determined no weapons were involved and there was no immediate threat to the students or staff at the school and the lock down was lifted. The Bates County Sheriff’s Office, Rich Hill Fire Department, and Bates County EMS also assisted in the situation. No further information is available at this time.
