Once again, the Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) Auxiliary has helped brighten the school year for local students through its annual Operation Sock-It-To-Me project. For the past two months, BCMH employees and community members donated new socks for students in grades K–12, and volunteers have now collected, sorted, and prepared them for distribution to area schools.
School counselors will ensure the socks reach the children who need
them most, providing a small but meaningful boost to their comfort and
confidence throughout the school year.
Special recognition goes to Lora Padley, who leads Operation
Sock-It-To-Me each year. Coordinating collections, sorting donations, and
organizing delivery takes dedication and energy, and Lora ensures the project
runs smoothly from start to finish.
BCMH thanks the community and employees for their generosity. Through
Operation Sock-It-To-Me, children in local schools will start the year with one
less worry and one more pair of warm, comfortable socks.
