Bates County – Signs indicating a weight limit of 25 tons for single-unit vehicles were installed for a bridge on Bates County Route TT over the Bones Branch west of Butler, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The new load posting was introduced during the department’s regular bridge inspection process, which analyzes load limitations and has been updated in accordance with Federal Highway Administration guidance.
The bridge was built in 1957. The new weight limit will be in place until the bridge is replaced. At this time, no timeframe has been set for replacing the bridge.
Previously, there was no posted load limit on this bridge.
