Intoxicated Driver Arrested In Belton

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, just before 5:30 p.m., Cass County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of 195th St. on Route D in Belton regarding a three-vehicle accident.

The driver of a pickup truck had struck a semi-truck and another vehicle.

Both vehicles the pickup truck hit sustained heavy damage.

Deputies conducted standardized field sobriety tests for the driver of the pickup truck.

He was placed into custody --- and has been identified as 37-year-old Justin Sherman of Amoret, Missouri.

Sherman has been charged with two felony counts of Property Damage - 1st Degree (E Felony), a felony for Leaving the Scene of an Accident - Property Damage Exceeding $1,000 (E Felony) and a misdemeanor for Driving While Intoxicated (B Misdemeanor).
