Dana J. Bruce was reported missing from Sedalia, Missouri, on October 4, 2008. Since that time, the Sedalia Police Department has pursued more than 200 leads in an ongoing effort to locate her. Detectives have followed up on each lead thoroughly, employing a wide range of investigative techniques, including the use of cadaver dogs, ground-penetrating radar, waterway dredging with boats and dive teams, and conducting dozens of interviews across five different states.
Each lead is
carefully reviewed and assigned to a detective for follow-up. While many of
these investigative efforts have been made public over the years, there are
additional actions that continue behind the scenes. Because this remains an
active and open investigation, not all developments can be shared publicly.
Protecting the integrity of the case is essential, and the Sedalia Police
Department is committed to pursuing every credible avenue without jeopardizing
the outcome.
Dana is
described as a white female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 135
pounds, with auburn hair and hazel eyes. She has a distinctive tattoo on her
upper left arm depicting a teddy bear with the name “Dylan.” At the time of her
disappearance, Dana was 23 years old. As of this release, she would be 40 years
old.
The Sedalia
Police Department remains dedicated to seeking justice and resolution for Dana
and her family. We urge anyone who may have information (no matter how small it
may seem) to come forward. Please contact Detective Travis St. Cyr at (660)
