Recently a prominent city employee came into the Carpenters
Cup to purchase items. He made a comment trying to reflect on the days before
the Carpenters Cup was in existence and what people did when they needed help. He
couldn't remember what was available.
Most people want to help, they just don't know how and
where, that's where we come in.
The Carpenters Cup was put into place by God and only exists
because of Him. The ministries that come from this store are a direct
reflection of His love for you. This county and the Carpenters Cup are His
hands and feet. We help one another. This
store is just the conduit.
The Carpenters Cup is Christian based and
non-denominational. Through the Butler Ministerial Alliance, we give out their
vouchers assisting with utilities, and other emergency needs. We give out food, perishable and
non-perishable. During the summer months, we have people bring in fresh garden
foods, and it's given away. We
occasionally have fresh eggs brought in and they are given away. Occasionally,
we get pans of Jack Stack foods to give away.
We give out laundry soap (when available) and give some to the different
area towns to give away. We give away
coats, food and hygiene bags to the needy, blankets, fans and air conditioners
(when we have them). We give lunches
away in the summer, help with the Thanksgiving meal (with Judge Julie Highley),
help families provide for Christmas with food and gifts. But none of this would be possible without
your help. When a shout out is sent over FB for someone needing specific help,
it's this county that comes together with material items, ideas, and/or
money.
You people, your churches, businesses, social groups, and
organizations are the reason this works.
Once again, the Carpenters Cup is only the conduit, so thank you and God
Bless you all.
