Kathleen
“Kathy” Burns, 77 of Nevada, Missouri passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at
Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri after a short illness. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am
Friday, May 30, 2025 at Mullinax Funeral home, Butler (660-679-0009). Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Adrian VFW.

Kathleen
Bell Burns was born December 21, 1947 in Nevada, Missouri, the daughter of Alva
and Margaret Cumbie Bell. She grew up in
the Schell City area and graduated from Schell City High School in 1966. Following graduation she attended Southwest
Baptist College, graduating in 1971 with a Bachler’s Degree in Education.
On
June 5, 1971 Kathy was united in marriage to Gary L. Burns of Appleton City,
Missouri. They enjoyed 46 years of
marriage until Gary’s passing in 2017.
Kathy
was preceded in death by her parents and husband Gary Burns. She is survived by one sister, Marsha Baer of
Fishers, IN., two brothers, Elton “Bo” Bell and David Bell (Christina) both of
Schell City, MO., three sisters-in-law, along with nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends. She will be missed by many.
