The
Senior Class of Appleton City High School is holding a soup and chili lunch 11:00
a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 26 at the AC Depot. Please come out and enjoy some lunch and
support the class with fundraising for their senior trip. The menu includes your choice of chili,
vegetable, chicken noodle, or potato soup, dessert and drink for $10.00. You can dine in or carryout.
St.
Mary’s School in Montrose is holding a spaghetti dinner, silent auction and
50-50 raffle drawing on Saturday, February 1 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s
basement. The meal is a freewill
donation and the menu consists of spaghetti with sauce, salad, breadsticks,
dessert and tea or lemonade to drink. St
Mary’s families are also selling 50-50 raffle tickets for $1 each or 6 for
$5. Please contact a family or the
school if you are interested in purchasing tickets. The drawing will be held around 8:15 p.m.
during the dinner.
The
Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at
the Knight’s Hall in Montrose on Sunday, February 9 from 8:30 to 10:00
a.m. Treat your family to a hot
breakfast you don’t have to cook or clean up.
A free will donation will be greatly appreciated
Due to
snow days, AC Schools will be in session on the following days: February 10,
March 3 and March 31. Make sure to mark your calendars.
The
Appleton City High School Alumni Foundation will award ten $3,000 scholarships
to the Class of 2025. Applications
deadline is March 5. Contact the High School
College Application Advisor. This is made possible from contributions, which

The
Appleton City Alumni Association luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. May 24, 2025.

Truman
Lake Community Foundation (TLCF) is accepting applications for its 2025 Spring Community
Grant Cycle. All applications are due by 11:59 p.m. February 28, 2025. Non-profit
agencies with 501(c)3 or similar tax-exempt status like schools, faith based
organizations or governmental entities are eligible to apply for grants. In
awarding grants, TLCF and the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) will not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age,
disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status. Eligible
nonprofits can begin the application process online starting February 1, 2025
at cfozarks.org/applyforgrants. TLCF was founded in 1998 with a mission to
enhance the quality of life in Henry County and surrounding area through
resource development, community grant making, collaboration and public
leadership. Through the generosity of donors, our fund balances have grown to
$13.2 million dollars. To date, they have awarded $4 million in grants. For

The 7th
annual Farm to Fork Summit and Expo, hosted by New Growth, will be held 9:00 a.m.-4:00
p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Nevada Community Center in Nevada,
Missouri. The event connects Midwest farmers, food producers, buyers, and
advocates to strengthen the local food supply chain. Sessions will cover
diverse topics from marketing to financing such as selling through regional
food hubs to using AI for small businesses and participants will enjoy a
locally sourced lunch. Tickets are $45 online ($50 at the door), with discounts
available for beginning farmers with less than 10 years’ experience. For more

Funds are
needed for the backpack program. Trinity United Methodist Church in AC houses
this project, which is funded by you, the community. They now are sending 37 packs of food home
