The Miami County Sheriff’s office has released the following:
On January 27th, at 4:46am, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office jail staff found a male inmate unresponsive inside a housing cell. Jail staff performed life saving measures until the paramedics arrived on the scene. The inmate was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Sheriff
personnel contacted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation who responded to the
jail. This investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at
this time. FM91 will continue to monitor
