The City of Harrisonville will be conducting a planned electrical outage, to
fully re-energize our south substation, following Evergy's power outage on
Sunday, November 10.
The planned
outage will take place at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, and is scheduled
to last about 30 minutes.
Their hope
is that doing the work late at night will cause as little disruption as
possible in your daily routine.
This
planned outage will only affect those who were without power during the outage
on November 10.
When the
outage occurred on November 10, City staff were able to effectively bypass the
south substation by drawing power from the City's other 2 stations. This
allowed residents to get power back on nearly 10 hours sooner than those who
had to wait for Evergy to fully replace their damaged utility pole.
The work
they will do on November 25th, will be undoing that bypass and
allowing power to begin flowing from the south substation. This is essential to
keeping a balanced power grid and keeps any one substation from carrying too
much of the communities power load.
