On 11/03/2024, Butler Officers were
dispatched to Smoker Friendly in reference to suspicious activity.
While Officers were on scene
outside of Smoker Friendly, an employee came outside and stated “He needs to
leave” as James Carroll was walking out of the store. The employee then advised
officers that Carroll attempted to hand “stuff” to her inside of a cigarette
pack.

cigarette pack in Carroll’s hand that he then dropped on the ground. An Officer

crystalline substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Carroll was then then placed in
custody for possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Bates
County Jail.
On 11/04/2024 a warrant was issued
for Carroll with the following charge: Possession of a Controlled Substance
with a bond assigned of $10,000 Cash or Surety.
