The City of Butler has updated and released
a Current list of storm shelters inside the city limits of Butler.
There are 3 locations that can or will open for severe weather.
______________________________________________
The following facilities have been generous
enough to offer the use of their building as a storm shelter for the public. In
the event of severe weather, The City of Butler does not guarantee that these
facilities will be open.
To have access to the Butler Storms Shelters, and to make sure they are open will
depend on the time of day officials have
to contact the designated person to open the doors to the facility and how much advance warning The Emergency
Management Officials have to contact the person responsible for opening the
facility to the public. They would urge the residents of Butler to plan prior
to the time that a warning may occur, such as a neighbor or relative with a basement
or storm shelter, or in your home if time does not allow you to seek shelter at
an alternate location.
