Butler Fire Department Dispatched to South Side Lumber

The Butler Fire Department and Emergency Personnel responded to calls of flames seen from the area of Rice Road and Nursery Street in Butler,  around 8 pm Thursday evening.

Flames were visible to traffic from 1-49 and Fort Scott Street. Embers from a burn pile made their way to a large pile of slab wood in the parking lot, which ignited into flames. The quick response from Emergency Personnel contained the blaze, keeping the incident from resulting in much more intense damage.

South Side Lumber is back to business as usual on Friday, and they expressed their thanks to the media for the quick response and efficiency of the Butler Fire Department containing this fire, the outcome could have been much worse.

Thank you to the Butler Fire Department and the Emergency Personnel Team.
