Miami County residents have again become a target for a telephone scam.
The caller states that they are a representative from our
office, in the most recent case, Captain Andrew Roush, and that the individual
has had a warrant for missing jury duty. The caller states that you can pay the
bond over the phone or risk going to jail.
They will use different tactics to scare you into paying
over the phone or other ways. Please do
not give into their tactics.
If you receive this call, hang up immediately. If you have become a victim of the scam and
have lost money, you can report this to your local jurisdiction.
