Fatality motorcycle accident in Vernon County

 On Saturday August 10th around 2:00 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 around 5 miles south of Rich Hill.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the southbound 2014 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 46 year old Joshua B. Ward of Fayetteville, Arkansas failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the roadway into the median.

Mr. Ward was transported by air ambulance to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield. Missouri where he was later pronounced deceased. Next of kin have been notified.
