Papinville 5K was a Success

         Papinville 5K Walk\Run a Successful Event

The Papinville 5K event was our first event for the expansion project for the museum. It was a beautiful morning for a walk\run in the country and going by historical points of interest. Each person was given a shirt and a pamphlet describing each historical point. There were twenty three people doing the walk\run event. Everyone commented what a nice  area to have the event.

The cornhole tournament was won by Brian and Krista Ware, from Overland Park, Ks. The frisbee throwing contest for the child division was won by Grace Lee Swarnes and the adult division was won by Doug Mager. Each received a prize. There were many children’s games for the event. The $400.00 raffle was won by Jeff Wikoff. A lunch was served with the Suzie Q’s being a big hit.

We wish to thank the sponsors for helping us in this event. April’s Attic, Builtet LLC, Country Babes Designs, CRK Land Improvement Chad and Brayden  Klinksick, Dane Diehl State Rep, Four Rivers Rental LLC, Greg and Jennifer Wheatley, Heath Klinksick Milk Hauling LLC, Marquardt Brothers Farms LLC, Pro Built Products, Rich Hill Café, Riverboat Landing LLC, Rich Hill Equipment, Riverside Pecans, Swopes Drive In and The Feather Factory. We appreciated your help and to all the people that helped to make this event possible. We thank the new activity director, Gail Tiller, who has taken over for Phyllis Stewart. Phyllis will keep writing the stories for the Mid America Shopper and 92.1 Radio Station. We also want to thank the shopper and radio for printing and telling the stories and news for Papinville. They help us so much to keep the history of the area alive. Jeff Miller did the wagon rides which people enjoy with his champion mules .

The Papinville Picnic will be Sept. 28 so save the date. This year we will celebrate the 140th year of the historic bridge. There will be stories in the shopper and on the radio. This year we will have bridge t-shirts printed, a booklet with stories that people have written of their memories of the bridge and we will also have a historic wagon ride to the bridge telling the history about the bridge. More information will be available later. We are still planning on a fish fry for the dinner. Activities are in the making for a good day. Until later for the stories. We thank our supporters who keep the history going in Papinville.
