Missouri State Fair Military Honoree Day

Help us honor the men and women who have served or are serving our amazing country. The Missouri State Fair is accepting nominations for Veteran/Active Military Honoree of the Day, sponsored by Capital Materials, Retrieving Freedom, Inc., and Starline Brass.

Eleven veterans/active duty service members from Missouri will be chosen from the nominations and honored in a Military Flag Retreat ceremony to take place just outside the Historic Administration Building on the Fairgrounds.

This year’s honorees and their respective ceremony dates and times are:

  • Perry Burch of Columbia (Navy) – Aug. 8 at 5:15 p.m.
  • Jack Jackson of St. Albans (Marine Corps) – Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Edgar “Joe” Dayringer of Kearney (Marine Corps/Army National Guard) – Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Jack Cottrell of Grant City (Army) – Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Russell Miller of Columbia (Army) – Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Beau Williams of Hughesville (Army) – Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Greg McManus of Rogersville (Army National Guard) – Aug. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Charlie Guthrie of Marshall (Navy) – Aug. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Michael B. Garvey of Brookfield (Marine Corps) – Aug. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Holli D. Meushke of Warrensburg (Air Force) – Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Gary Lee Earl of Jasper (Army National Guard) – Aug. 18 at 4:30 p.m.
