Jeraldine “Dena” Elizabeth Simental, age 48, of Walker, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 16, 2024. She was born December 13, 1975 in Harrisonville, Missouri. Dena was the daughter of the late Wilber Dene Jewell and Lanora Ann Jones Jewell. Dena grew up in the Southern Baptist Church, having been saved and later baptized.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 to 2 pm Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Heuser Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held following at the Green Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.heuserfunerals.com.
She attended school in Peculiar and Slater, Missouri before becoming a mother to the first of seven children. She was united in marriage to Jesus Simental Sr. and became a homemaker. As time passed, she found a rewarding career as a professional in-home health aide until becoming disabled herself. Note: that did not stop her! She learned to drive again with the assistance of pedal control devices on the steering wheel. Dena never met a stranger, was always a happy-go-lucky person, always willing to lend a hand to help others the best she knew how.
Dena was preceded in death by her mother and father and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is survived by Marisa and Venessa Simental of the home; Jesus Simental Jr, Kansas City, Missouri; Steven Jewell and family, Adrian, Missouri; Sara Jewell and family, Foster, Missouri; Wesley Campbell and family, Billings, Montana; Christopher Campbell, Billings, Montana; one brother, Willie Jewell, Deerfield, Missouri; one sister, Margie Todd, Rich Hill, Missouri; ten grandchildren she loved with all her heart; aunts, Tina Heard, Butler, Missouri; Judy Turntine, Grandview, Missouri; Regina Edmondson, Peculiar, Missouri; Ersie Whitmer, Rich Hill, Missouri; uncle Bob Jones, Rich Hill, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; other relatives and friends.
