The
Yellow Roses were a beautiful addition to the Appleton City Cemetery as we
honored Memorial Day, but now it’s time to pick those roses up! Roses will be picked up on Tuesday Jun 4,
2024 at 8:30 a.m., with a rain date of Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 8:30
a.m. All individuals, families, clubs or
groups are welcome. For information,

The AC
Carousel opens May 24 on weekends (Friday – Sunday) 4:00-7:00 p.m. through Labor
Day. Rules will be posted at acmogov.com.
The ACHS
Alumni Meeting will be Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. with a noon hot
meal/meeting. Although the reservation deadline has passed, walk-ins will be
welcomed at the door.
Karen
Green will host the ACHS Class of 1984 at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at
Green's Welding. Finger foods and drinks will be served.
The
Appleton City Museum at 503 N. Maple is now open every Friday afternoon
1:30-4:30 p.m. Bring your friends and
family to visit the 1880 Moore School, the Clark House and the Museum to learn
about early day area history. Membership dues for the 2024-2025 year may be
paid at this time at $15 individual and $25 family. Please support your museum with a membership
and a visit this summer.
The 32nd
Annual Montrose Festival will be May 24-26. This year’s theme is “Put Me In
Coach” in honor town teams of the past.

at 8:00 p.m. Saturday starts with
breakfast 7:30 – 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall. Baking contest at the VFW Hall
10:00 a.m. drop off, 11:00 judging. 20th annual car show at 9:00
a.m., Bake sale and vendors and crafters in the Community Building at 9:00 a.m.
Museum opens at 9:00 a.m. For the kids, Team Sprinkles, bounce houses, pony
rides, petting zoo, train rides and Ted E. Bear Toy Factory. Tilted Ax Throwing
9:00 a.m., Extreme Video Trailer 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Chicken drop at 10:00
a.m. KC Wolf from noon to 2:00 p.m. The announcement of this year's Home Town
Hero is at 12:30. Children’s parade
starts at 12:45 p.m. and the grand parade begins at 1:00 p.m. with registration
at the Montrose High School 10:00 – 12:30.
Following the parade, will the Kickin Chicken Fried Chicken Dinner 2:00
– 6:00 p.m. a pie and wine auction after the parade, VFW #8820 beer stand 2:00
p.m. Corn Hole tournament at 3:30 p.m. “Members Only Band”, will entertain 9:00
p.m.-midnight. Sunday, softball starts at noon and the Scavenger Hunt at the
VFW Hall 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. There will be beer olympics at 6:00 p.m. next to the
museum, along with evening entertainment.
The 20th
Annual Appleton City Car Show will be July 13 in the City Park, right off 52
Hwy across the street from Zink Motor Company. Check in 8:00 a.m.-noon. Car Show noon-3:00 p.m. This is a judged
event. There is a $10 entry fee, with proceeds going to two scholarships for
local high school students. Top 85 cars and trucks combined, top 3 motorcycles,
and top 3 rat rods.
Zink
Motor Co is hosting the KC Antique Car Club at their dealership. Model A’s and
T’s will be on display. This event is free.
The AC
Fire Department will have a free vintage fire truck and fire equipment show
July 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the AC Fire Station.
AC Rural
Health Clinic will be providing Free Sports Physicals for students entering
grades 7th-12th in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
Sports Physical Clinics are scheduled for June 12 and June 26, 2024.
Appointments are REQUIRED and appointment spots are limited. Please call AC
Rural Health Clinic at 660-476-2121 to schedule your appointment or for any
questions.
Phil and
Pam Morgan, Gospel music recording artists, will be performing at River of Life
Fellowship in Rockville, MO, 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2 as part of their on-going
“AMEN” Ministry Tour. The multimedia
presentation combines close family harmony with accomplished instrumentals for
a fun, motivational experience. The
Morgan’s inspiring message has been featured on Oprah, Montel, Discovery Health
Channel, and the 700 Club. Their music
is heard on Christian radio across the US, Australia, and Europe and their live
appearances entertain and encourage audiences nationwide with an unforgettable
blend of music, humor, and heart-to-heart honesty. There will be a merchandise table available
featuring CD’s, books, and other great gift ideas. A love offering will also be
taken to bless the Morgan’s ministry efforts.
