April's
Second Wednesdays, Meet Me On Main, Shop & Stroll will be April 10, 2024,
from 4:00 to 7:00 p/m. Participating businesses this month are Jina's Junque,
Bluebird Lounge, Fika, Half Baked Take & Bakery, and Cork & Keg. Thank
you for supporting local businesses!
Golden
Apples Senior Club will have a fundraiser garage sale in conjunction with the AC
City Wide Garage Sale April 26 - 27. All
proceeds help provide meals and activities for seniors 50 and over. The April
11 meeting is 5:00 p.m. at the AC Forest Park Building. The menu will be BBQ
chicken with cheesy potato casserole.
Please bring salads, sides, and desserts to go with the main dish. After
dinner, stay for a few games of Bingo!
The
monthly Men’s Fellowship Breakfast at the Appleton City Church of God will be 7:00
a.m. Saturday April 13. All the men of
the community are invited to join them for a time of great food and fellowship.
Jeff Dunlap will have a short devotional.
The
Knights of Columbus will have their monthly pancake and sausage breakfast at
the Knight’s Hall in Montrose on Sunday, April 14 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Treat your family to a hot breakfast you
don’t have to cook or clean up. A free
will donation will be greatly appreciated
AC PTO is
collecting Food Fair receipts and Best Choice UPC labels. Please send them with students or place them
in a plastic bag or envelope and drop them off in the Elementary School Office,
St. Clair County State Bank with Janet Payton or Little Apples Learning Center
by April 10. This on-going fundraiser raises money for PTO to use for the
children's classroom trips and supplies. Please remember to keep saving through
the summer.
Ellett
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a book fair on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in
the Out Patient Hallway from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Book Fair Mike will have a variety of books,
gifts and gadgets for all ages. Everyone
is welcome to come shop! Call

The AC
Spring City Wide Garage Sale dates are set for April 26 - 27. Permits are $5
and can be purchased at City Hall beginning Monday April 8 through Tuesday
April 23. Permits to set up in the AC Park are $25 for the pole shelter, $15
for the stage, $10 for lawn permits and these fees cover both days. Park
permits can also be purchased at City Hall on a first come, first served basis
and cannot be reserved by phone. Maps will be available at Food Fair, Casey's,
Fika and Powell's True Value beginning Thursday afternoon, April 25. House of
Joy Ministries is scheduled to be at the City Park, Saturday from 3:00-5:00 to
pick up donations, but may leave earlier if full. For questions, please call

AC PTO
presents a “Little Ladies Dance” 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. May 11 in the Elementary Gym. Preschool to 6th grade girls are
invited to bring their best dancing partner to join them for an evening of
dancing. The price of the dance is $20
per couple and $5 for each additional guest per family.

asked to please help the Appleton City FCCLA fund their trip to the National
Leadership Conference in Seattle, WA this summer by signing up for their paint
party 6:00-8:30 p.m. April 29 in the ACHS Commons Area. It is co-hosted with Mrs. Shelly Bales with Blended

Phil and
Pam Morgan, Gospel music recording artists, will be performing at River of Life
Fellowship in Rockville, MO, 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28 as part of their
on-going “AMEN” Ministry Tour. The
multimedia presentation combines close family harmony with accomplished
instrumentals for a fun, motivational experience. A love offering will also be
taken to bless the Morgan’s ministry efforts.

The MU
Extension office in St. Clair County is offering a Barn Quilt class at the
library in Osceola, 115 Chestnut Street on April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Jocelyn Wheeler from Hickory County will be the instructor for the class.
Participants will have the opportunity to construct either a 2’ x 2’ design for
$45.00 or a 1’ x 1’ design for $25.00. The 1’ x 1’ board is intended for those
who would like to hang their barn quilt indoors. It is not durable enough for
outdoor hanging. Register for the class
at the Extension office located inside the west door of the courthouse, 655

MU
Extension, Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), and the MO Forage and
Grasslands Council are cooperating to provide a Management Intensive Grazing
School on May 7-9 at the Forest Park Building, 206 East 5th Street,
Appleton City, MO 64724. Classes will
begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m. daily. This program is
required to receive MO SWCD cost share funding and may help in receiving NRCS
cost share funding for grazing system development. Registration and payment are
required to attend this event by May 2. Register online at https://shorturl.at/afwQX. Cost to attend the event is $200 per person
and $100 per additional person from the same farm not needing materials. Fee
includes materials, lunches, and refreshments during the event. For all questions
