Marian Frazier, 95, of Marshall, MO




 

Marian Frazier, 95 of Marshall, Missouri passed away March 5, 2024 at the Baptist Home in Independence, Missouri. A visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (816-657-4400). Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm Friday in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Marshall, 8 South Odell Street, Marshall, Missouri. A visitation will be held just prior to the service beginning at 1:30 pm Saturday, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Home of Independence or Gideons International. Marian (Dysart) Frazier was born on January 2, 1929, in Red Oak, Iowa. She graduated from Paola High School in 1946, Soon after high school she met the love of her life John Edward Frazier of Drexel who had just completed service in the United States Army. They were married at the First Baptist Church of Paola in 1947. John and Marian made their first home near Drexel, MO on the Frazier family farm. They were happily married for 34 years. Marian was a full-time homemaker for most of her years. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the core of her life. She served as a volunteer Children's Sunday School teacher for fifty years. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Her husband's work as a school administrator led them to live in Versailles, Monroe City and Marshall, MO. She worked as a teacher's aide when they moved to Marshall.

Beginning in 1978 she was employed at the State Habilitation Center in Marshall. Marian retired in 1994. She enjoyed a trip to Israel, a retirement gift from her children and she took many other trips with the Senior Group from church.


Marian was preceded in death by her husband John, mother and step-father, Lydia Helen and Halbert Dysart, father Adolph Holm, son-in-law Darrell Martin, and infant great-granddaughter Brinley Frazier.

She is survived by four children Linda Martin of Grain Valley, MO: Jerry (Ellen) Frazier of Alexandria, VA, John (Melissa) Frazier of Emma, MO, and Lisa (Howard) Ward of Peculiar Mo.

She is also survived by grandchildren: Annette Martin, Independence; Christopher Martin (Cheryl), Blue Springs; Allen Frazier (Ashlea) Alexandria, VA; Ryan (Katrina) Frazier, Kansas City, MO; Amy (Andrew) Sherill, Liberty MO Jeremy (Lauren) Frazier, Arnold, MO; Kristin Frazier, Emma, MO; Daniel Ward, Blue Springs, MO; Thomas (Sammy Jo) Ward, Belton, MO.; and nine great-grandchildren: Joshua Martin, Noah Martin, Kellan Frazier, Paxton Frazier, Luke Sherrill, Emily Frazier, Alice Frazier, Haley Jo Ward, and Cecilia Frazier.
