Chad Mahoney, President of the Missouri Broadcasters Association is very pleased to share that they had a number of very impressive students apply for MBA Foundation Scholarships this year. Many of them are already working part-time in our industry.
The Missouri Broadcasters Association
awarded $15,000 in scholarships to four
very impressive broadcasting students.
Ava Potter received the MBA Foundation’s Charles Earls Broadcast
Scholarship for the amount of $5,000. Ava is a Senior at Clinton High School in
Clinton, Missouri. For nearly three years, she has worked at her local radio
stations, 95.3 KDKD and 104.9 the BIZZ. She plans to pursue a major
in broadcast journalism and a minor in sports journalism at the University of
Missouri.
Mr. Earls was a Missouri native and
operated radio stations in Missouri and surrounding states for decades. He was
an active MBA member, serving as the association’s President in 1975 and 1976.
Mr. Earls died in 2022 and his family has established this scholarship in his
memory.
