Local Clinton Student wins Missouri Broadcasters Scholarship

Chad Mahoney, President of the Missouri Broadcasters Association is  very pleased to share that they  had a number of very impressive students apply for MBA Foundation Scholarships this year. Many of them are already working part-time in our industry.

The Missouri Broadcasters Association  awarded $15,000 in scholarships to four very impressive broadcasting students.

Ava Potter received the MBA Foundation’s Charles Earls Broadcast Scholarship for the amount of $5,000. Ava is a Senior at Clinton High School in Clinton, Missouri. For nearly three years, she has worked at her local radio stations, 95.3 KDKD and 104.9 the BIZZ. She plans to pursue a major in broadcast journalism and a minor in sports journalism at the University of Missouri.

Mr. Earls was a Missouri native and operated radio stations in Missouri and surrounding states for decades. He was an active MBA member, serving as the association’s President in 1975 and 1976. Mr. Earls died in 2022 and his family has established this scholarship in his memory.
