Donald Williams, 92, Butler

 Donald Glenn Williams, age 92, of Butler, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at home peacefully with his family. Graveside services will be held at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086, on Monday February 19th, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice. Donald Glenn Williams was born on November 1, 1931, in Henry County, Missouri. The son of Glenn A Williams and Frances Marian (White) Williams.

Don joined the miliary out of high school and served 4 years in the Air Force. He worked at Bendix (Honeywell) for 30 plus years. He met his wife Laveda Richardson while employed there. Don retired at 62 and he and Laveda became snowbirds and wintered at Fun and Sun RV Park in San Benito, Texas for many years.


Don and Laveda raised their children in Raytown, Missouri and later moved to White Oaks Crossing in Oak Grove, Missouri where they lived for many years. Don moved to Johnstown, Missouri in 2017.


Don loved football. He was a little league coach in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in the 60’s and 70’s. He was a Chiefs fan but a Dallas Cowboy fan during his snowbird years. He was a MU basketball fan, but he later converted to a KU basketball fan.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Laveda in 2009, his parents and both brothers Robert Wayne Williams and Doyle Williams of Clinton, Missouri. He was also preceded in death by his step-son Gary Farrell.


Don is survived by his sister Carolyn Shaffer of Texas, son Mike Williams of Fruitland, Florida, daughter Doneda and Scott Swenson of Johnstown, Missouri. Daughter Rebecca Lynn of Johnstown, Missouri. Grandchildren Lisa Marie Williams of California, Michael and Andrea Williams of Kansas City, Kansas, Brooke Swenson of Raymore, Missouri, Colton Swenson and Britney Reed of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Chad and Sarah Farrell, Shawn Farrell, Shannon Farrell, Layton Farrell, and many great-grandchildren.
